OUR TURKEY SHOOT golf tournament began in 1998. It started as a spin off from the original TURKEY SHOOT that was run by Mr Larocca. Back then frozen turkeys were the coveted prize of which Uncle John and Chris were one of the first winners! As that golf tournament evolved many of us wanted to get back to the original rules. Being able to play with only 3 clubs and a putter made it much more challenging.

We have had difficulty finalizing a name. It has been changed from The Real Turkey Shoot to The Turkey Shoot but for now the one that means the most to the members is that this tournament is called OUR TURKEY SHOOT !!!!!

We started with just 3 foursomes and played some of the first tournaments at the Holbrook Country Club, Hauppauge Country Club and Rider Ave golf course. The Turkey Shoot shortly became a special group of hackers and in time we added more golfers– only golfers that wanted to have fun while competing for bragging rights.
